  • Clear a dance zone away from furniture corners and anything a spinning child could knock over.
  • Decide on socks: bare feet grip better on hard floors than socks do.
  • Agree what a freeze looks like — total statue, or wobbling allowed for the youngest players.

  1. Clear the floor. Push chairs back and define the dance zone.
  2. Start the music. Everyone dances — the sillier the better.
  3. Pause it. When the music stops, every dancer freezes like a statue.
  4. Inspect the statues. Walk around admiring the poses; wobblers just laugh and reset.
  5. Repeat. Keep rounds short and vary how long the music plays so nobody can predict the freeze.
